Semester 2 2021 Web Development

ATech+

Description

The goal of this project is to develop a platform for computer science students at the University of Auckland (UOA) to find jobs as well as helping employers to recruit IT talents in UOA who will potentially make significant contributions to their company. The final product of this project will greatly reduce the workload for the staff of UOA and allows students to obtain employment information more conveniently as the requests from the employers will be visible to the students once approved by the UOA staff through this platform. In comparison to the current situation where the main tool for communication for students, employers and staff is email. Therefore multiple email threads are required before either party to receives any information. This is really a cumbersome process. In order to resolve this issue, we will create a web application for students to display job listings from employers, an internal dashboard for the staff of UOA and a form for employers to provide their recruitment information which can then be approved, declined or edited by the staff of UOA on the internal dashboard and automatically publish on the web applications for students if approved. We believe that it will be a successful project. This is because every member of our team has a strong passion towards software development and a good understanding of the techniques and skills needed for this project. We also have group members who have worked on similar projects before. By applying the AGILE software development methodology (Scrum), we can ensure that every group member will work efficiently towards our final goal.
