Semester 2 2024 App Development

Project CARE

Description

The CARE Platform is a conservationists best friend, designed to empower those dedicated to protecting NZs native bird species from predators, especially in remote locations like Waiheke Island, where internet access can be a challenge. By integrating both online and offline capabilities, this platform allows users to effortlessly upload images, analyse data, and synchronise their findings, ensuring continuous fieldwork even in the most challenging environments. With key features like AI-powered predator detection, re-identification capabilities, and intuitive data visualisation, all built using Python, PyQt, and AWS, the platform offers a user-friendly, cross-platform experience tailored to the needs of conservationists. Ultimately, this solution enhances predator tracking and management, helping to drive New Zealands conservation goal of achieving predator-free by 2050.
