The WeDo project tackles the challenge of social isolation by creating an intuitive mobile platform that connects users through shared activities and interests. Designed for both iOS and Android using React Native and Expo, WeDo offers features such as activity creation, personalized filters, messaging, and user profiles. Powered by Supabase for a scalable backend and integrating Twilio for secure authentication, the app ensures user privacy and safety with robust reporting systems. Our team collaborated using Agile Scrum methodology, leveraging tools like Figma, Jira, and Git for efficient development. While core functionalities such as activity browsing and group messaging were achieved, future improvements like push notifications, a friend system, and enhanced personalization will further elevate the user experience. WeDo provides a vital platform for fostering community connections and combating social isolation.
